NS GovLab has been tirelessly preparing for next weeks session with our fellows (keep an eye out for our next post), but we have a new member of the CoCreation team. We want to tell you a little bit about her and how she came to be with NS GovLab.

Alex Sotiropoulos

Day job: Public Relations student at Mount Saint Vincent University

Other hats: Basketball coach, sister, daughter, aspiring dog mom

Claim to fame: Being the girl with the unpronouncable last name

Alex is a Public Relations student at Mount Saint Vincent Univeristy. After completing her undergraduate degree in Commerce at Saint Mary’s University, she knew she didn’t want to sit behind a desk punching numbers in a computer for the next 30 years.

She searched the big world of academia to see what else could spark her interest. Through friends and family who highly praised the Public Relations program (and lots of research), Alex found her true calling.

Being involved in her community through coaching basketball, Alex knew she didn’t want to stop there. Being able to work with NS GovLab for her first co-op placement was an opportunity for her to be part of making a difference for the aging population in Nova Scotia.

Alex will be working on telling the stories of NS GovLab — writing and editing blog posts, keeping you up-to-date with new and exciting news on the NS GovLab Twitter account, and collaborating with other members of the CoCreation Team.

In Alex’s free time she can be found shopping for home decor, looking at pictures of Mini-Golden Doodle puppies, or Instagramming her food.
